After many many (many!) months withholding from spending a small fortune on six face powders, I gave into temptation and purchased the Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour kit.
Having the likes of Kim Kardashian and Kylie Jenner as fans, I couldn’t help but think I may need this palette in my life.
The Company
Anastasia Beverly Hills is an American beauty company specialising in brow shaping and grooming. Anastasia Soare, the founder, opened her first salon in Beverly Hills in 1997 and since then has become a household name within the beauty industry. Her range has branched out from brows and now includes skincare and makeup available both in her salons and online, on the Anastasia Beverly Hills website.
The Cost
The Contour palette retails for £39 in the UK, slightly more expensive than if purchased in the US ($40).
It can be purchased directly from the Anastasia Beverly Hills website, Sephora website or through the authorised UK retailer Cult Beauty.
I ordered mine through Cult Beauty. Delivery is £3.95 however if you spend over £50 shipping is free.
The Palette
So where to start…
The Product Details
The palette comes in three shades;
- Light to medium*
- Medium to tan
- Tan to deep
(*I purchased the Light to medium palette)
The palette consists of 3 highlighting and 3 contouring/sculpting shades.
What’s great about the palette is that it is magnetic, so when you eventually run out you can repurchase individual palette refills (£14 each). Which is good in the instance that you want to test lighter/darker shades.
The palette is packaged in a black removable cardboard sleeve doning the elegant Anastasia Beverly Hills logo. The palette itself is slick and matte, mirroring the protective cover. It is approximately 14.5cm x 10.5cm, which was much smaller than I anticipated (don’t ask me why?).
The powders are set out in two rows, highlights at the top and contouring powders at the bottom. Each powder measures approx. 3,5cm in diameter.
My Palette – Light to Medium
The light to medium palette consists of the following shades:
(Top Row – Left to Right)
- Highlights – Vanilla, Banana, Sand
(Bottom Row – Left to Right)
- Contours – Java, Fawn, Havana
5 out of the 6 shades are matte, with Sand being the only shimmer. The Banana shade is very similar to Ben Nye’s Luxury Banana powder which I have owned for years.
The Pigment, Texture and Durability
The pigment of these powders are great as you should be able to see in these swatches:
The powders are smooth and almost like satin. They blend out seamlessly and last throughout the day. Since buying this I have had lots of comments about how nice my skin is looking (just that makes it worth the money!).
What I use and how I use it:
I use the following powders from the kit:
- Banana – under my eyes after concealing to correct/reduce any redness.
- Vanilla – down my nose, chin and forehead to highlight
- Fawn – to contour my cheeks and nose
- Havana – to contour my forehead and under my chin/neck
The Overall Verdict
My overall verdict of this is that I….LOVE the Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Palette! Really beautiful product, no fall out, no chalkiness. Absolutely worth the money. If you haven’t already got a good contour kit, I would urge you to buy this.

It looks great! I am so tempted to get the contour palette but then I don’t think I’ll get enough wear of all the shades. Well, the struggle… X

Thats what I thought initially. But if it helps, I tend to use the lighter ones for day looks and the darker ones for evening. So I get wear out of all of them.
